Therapy Approaches
As a qualified Pluralistic Psychotherapist, I have a unique approach to therapy that incorporates various modalities to tailor the treatment to your individual needs. These modalities are chosen on an informed basis depending on what you wish to work on. I use my expertise to apply techniques, that I believe may help the client in front of me. Every client I work with is unique and you are very much at the heart of this therapy approach. Learn more about the therapy approaches I use below.

Pluralistic Counselling
Pluralistic Counselling is a versatile approach that allows me to draw from a range of therapy modalities in order to provide the most effective treatment for my clients. By integrating techniques from Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I am able to create a personalised therapy plan that addresses your specific concerns and goals.

Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy focuses on exploring the unconscious mind and past experiences to gain insight into current thoughts and behaviours. By examining early life events, your relationships with your parents and your school life, we can understand how these may be influencing your present emotions and actions. From that insight, we can work towards resolving these issues and fostering personal growth.

Person-Centred Therapy
Person-Centred therapy emphasises the importance of creating a safe and empathetic therapeutic relationship. Our relationship forms part of the therapy itself. By providing a non-judgemental and supportive space, I aim to help you develop self-awareness, self-acceptance, and potentially self-actualisation. Together, we will explore your feelings, values, and goals to facilitate positive change.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviours that contribute to emotional distress. It is particularly useful for helping with anxiety symptoms and unwanted behaviours. By working collaboratively, I can help clients to learn practical skills and techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts, reframe their perspective, and develop healthier coping strategies. Whether you're seeking support for a specific issue or aiming to improve your overall mental health, CBT can provide valuable tools to help you lead a more balanced and fulfilling life. On it's own it can appear like a sticking plaster, however combined with these other approaches, which can help find deeper issues and meaning, it can be a great from of therapy.

Transactional Analysis (TA)
Transactional Analysis Therapy is a powerful and insightful approach to understanding human behaviour, communication, and personal growth. It can help individuals gain clarity about their emotions, improve relationships, and resolve internal conflicts. Whether you're seeking to overcome personal challenges, build stronger connections, or foster self-awareness, this type of therapy offers practical tools to promote emotional well-being and personal development. I use this a lot where there are relationship issues and also it is great for work on self-esteem and self- worth.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a safe and natural therapeutic technique that utilises the power of focused attention, relaxation, and heightened suggestibility to help individuals address various mental, emotional, and behavioural challenges. During a hypnotherapy session, I will guide you into a deeply relaxed state, often referred to as a trance. In this state, the mind becomes more open to positive suggestions and insights, allowing underlying issues or patterns to be explored and addressed more effectively. Commonly used for stress management, overcoming phobias, improving sleep, and breaking unwanted habits like smoking.
